So far those involved in the VMware Converter Beta program have passed on very favorable feedback ; including feeback from our own VMware engineers. Recently on a 400 server conversion, a few problem machines that would not convert with other commercially available tools were able to convert easily with the beta of VMware Converter

the following is a recent note from the IT Manager of one of the largest and most succesful software firms in the Northeastern US. The kudos are great to see – for the VMware technology and how our top engineer Mark G. can accelerate adoption of this technology -
From the client :
“Our team at xxxx has been working with virtualization technology for just under one year. In that time, Expert Server Group has been extremely helpful with systems configurations, software quotes and training. Your team has been an excellent resource for the xxxx I.T. teams involved with our server consolidation project!
After some initial training and planning, our team has already consolidated 47 systems that came from an acquired company. One of our on-going challenges within engineering is server sprawl, which affects power consumption, cooling and development/lab real estate. With this preparation, our team was able to incorporate this recent acquisition into our existing infrastructure with ease. “
The benefits were:
- We retired those aging systems that are out of warranty and costly to manage.
- Didn’t need to order/stock parts inventory
- Better management of these systems through a single interface has reduced admin costs
- We didn’t need to hire anther support resource!
- Flexibility to increase systems resources with minimal disruption to the engineer!
“After some more planning and training that we’ve just wrapped up, we have started to deploy a virtual infrastructure in our production environment. We are already seeing benefits from server consolidation! Our goal will be to realize cost savings in power consumption and admin resources, which will help us lower our overall costs associated with systems support and maintenance!”
