Coming soon from Platespin – PowerRecon 3.0 and PowerConvert 6.6
Platespin is not sitting back and will soon be fighting back against Vmware’s free or lower cost offerings Capacity Planner and Converter.
The entry point to get into VMware’s Volume Licensing Program is 50K – which up until now was 50K of licensing only; now support/subscription and VMware services count towards this level.
Recently the price of the VI3 Acceleration Kit dropped from $30,000 to $28,000. This is to account for the removal of P2V and related SnS now that Converter (P2V’s successor) is included with VirtualCenter Management Server SnS
