Platespin seems to be hitting the mark with larger size enterprises with their new workload licensing model. While Converter is great for smaller Windows only deployments, the new pricing model offered by Platespin and the new functionality added to PowerConvert (Block level, etc) is getting them into new clients who are looking for x to x portability…A recent client, just chose Platespin, over Symantec, Acronis, and Vmware to capture images on over 750 servers. The images are being stored on iSCSI disk from Equallogic and the client has the images rotating between several sites. The iSCSI disk compliments existing FC disk.
